Kabarnya Gubernur DKI Jakarta bapak Ahok akan menghadiri sidang pleno uji materi yang berkaitan dengan Pasal 70 Ayat 3 Undang-Undang (UU) Nomor 10 Tahun 2016 tentang Pilkada oleh Mahkamah Konstitusi (MK), dan rencana sidang sekitar pukul 11.00. Dalam agenda persidangan ini dia hanya mendengarkan keterangan pihak terkait, dan keduanya menjadi pihak terkait setelah beberapa hari disetujui oleh Majelsi Hakim MK. Menurut Ahok, undang-undang tersebut membuat petahana jadi tidak dapat menjalankan tugas dengan semestinya selama lima tahun yang penuh dengan sumpah jabatan.
